It would have been nice to have my abilities back seven days ago. My travel time would have been cut in half if I could have just walked across the water instead of having to detour through the mountain. Does anyone know exactly what's going on here?

Speaking terms is the hardest step from what I've seen.

All forgiveness is, is the act of halting a punishment on someone. He'll forgive you given enough time, he just won't forget.

Then again... I have a slightly different view on all this than you I suppose.

[Itachi doesn't think he deserves forgiveness. He killed their entire clan. Or a good chunk of it. He made Sasuke kill him. If Sasuke does or doesn't forgive him in not a choice Itachi can deny, he's stepped out of the role of guiding his brother's life that the elder played for so many years. So he doesn't say anything.]
