It would have been nice to have my abilities back seven days ago. My travel time would have been cut in half if I could have just walked across the water instead of having to detour through the mountain. Does anyone know exactly what's going on here?

[To anyone who finds themselves along Route 42 they may find themselves faced with a dark-haired Uchiha in a burgundy robe. He has his Growlithe traveling along with him and looks like he has a clear goal in mind. Itachi won't stop for anyone but he won't mind them coming along if they like.]

this has happened once before while i was here but apparently

things will probably snap back to normal in a few days :(

no one really figured out what or why is going on
but its basically just pure chaos for a while

*Imogen was lost, alone, and pretty sure she was losing her mind. It finally happened, she lived up to all the expectations at school and was entirely insane. Worst of all Eli wasn't here, so what was the point of doing everything to be around him? This place was crazy, full of animals that would be cool if they weren't terrifying... well, except the ones she recognized as Pokemon, but... that just proved she was nuts.*

*That guy is... dark, mysterious, but he doesn't look as weird as the other weird people she's seen.*

Hey, wait up! Um... could you tell me where I am. I'm a bit lost, and possibly insane. So if you're something I imagined could you tell me that now.

A talking pony was enough delusions for one lifetime.

I see. It's a lot like a genjutsu. The whole thing is a giant illusion and we should not expect it to last.

[Ah, he remembered her from the first time he used the network. Though she seemed to have forgotten that she'd been here and was familiar with the world. Perhaps she returned home only to be dragged back since their conversation. Itachi stops, tucking his hands into his sleeves.]

This is the world of Pokemon. Currently you're standing on the path that will take you to Mahogany Town. I'm not part of your imagination, I'm very real.

This has happened several times before-I've only been here for two of them, but it seems as though the laws that govern this world get somewhat... relaxed for three days. Afterward, people tend to forget everything that happened, though last time people actually remembered bits and pieces of what happened. I haven't the foggiest idea why, though the fact that no one has any idea what causes it doesn't help either.

I really wish it could sustain itself for a longer period, though-at the very least, in terms of actually allowing us to possess our abilities. It's rather annoying to only possess them for three days every six months.

[She was bewildered. She'd stepped outside to head to a training field and had promptly found herself in the middle of a path that was clearly not where she'd been intending to go. The training attire clinging to her body wasn't exactly telling about her gender, but she didn't give that a thought, instead waiting patiently for the figure coming toward her to reach her spot that she could try to get a few answers.]

I see, the information is helpful. The white flash? Is that customary for every time this happens?

[When Itachi closes in on the figure, he eyes them briefly but clearly doesn't look like he's about to stop. According to someone else this whole thing would be over in a few days and he might not even remember it. So he might as well spend his time getting to Mahogany to see Sasuke.]

[If this stranger wanted answers, they'd have to keep up to ask their questions.]

But Mahogany isn't a Town in Pokemon, all the Pokemon towns are named after colors...

*Imogen, go back to the part where he's real and this is the Pokemon World.*

So I'm either really really nuts and lying to myself or I'm in a world of a video game? I guess you're real enough... not exactly the person my subconscious would lie to me with.

*Nothing about this makes her feel better.*

[Her reaction was a bit more demonstrative and her eyes widened some.]

More places with alternate mes? [Then she fell into step with him, seeing no reason to stop him when she could keep up.]

[That was news to him.]

[Itachi also has no idea what a video game is but he knows this is not a game.]

This place is also real enough so try not to die because you think it's a trick of your mind or a game.

[Her reaction, her words. That was probably the strangest part about this thing.]

As far as I'm aware, I'm the only me here. Today is the first I've seen an actual duplicate of someone. [Clones, yes but no full-on duplicate.]

[Her lips quirked up in amusement.] Considering my age and gender I wouldn't say duplicate is strictly accurate. You're in much better shape than the Itachi I know from further down the timeline than myself though, did things not go badly?

[Now she has his attention. He looks over at her, not willing to offer up any information about himself yet.] What sort of shape was he in?

Deathly ill. I understand he died briefly and was revived at one point... and he's normally bedridden.

[She paused a beat.]

I've been reluctant to speak with him personally.

[Ah, yes that.] Blind in one eye?

[He wouldn't blame her for not wanting to talk to him - his past, her possible future - it's not a pleasant one.]

*He had a point, if this place was dangerous, she can't get distracted by how obviously unhinged she'd become.*

...I'm Imogen, Imogen Moreno.

*She'll just take a pace next to him. She has nowhere else to go, after all.*

[There's no complaint from him as she joins him. Better to get her to civilization than leave her stranded out here.]

Itachi, Uchiha Itachi.

[He'll let silence fill the space between them for a moment.]

[Kagura still honestly has no idea where the heck she is, or why a odd looking bird (a HootHoot) follows her. She doesn't seem to chase it off, though. She's still having a hard time fighting off the other pokemon in the area.]

Why won't these damn things leave me alone?!

[Another temporary new arrival. It looks as though she's in distress. Itachi pointed to the various pokemon.]

Gokakyu.

[His Growlithe raced out to stand by Kagura's side, flames spread from the little dog-like creature. Not enough to harm them but it certainly sends them scattering into the trees again.]

Don't hesitate to attack them.

What the....

[She doesn't need someone to protect her. As soon as his Growlithe chases them off, Kagura glares daggers at him.]

I was fine! And I wasn't.

[She was just flustered, okay?]

If you insist.

[A snap of his fingers and his Pokemon returns to his side.]

In that case, I will depart and leave you to handle it yourself.

[With that he tucks both hands into his sleeves and turns back to the path.]

[She blinks. He's so much like Naraku...but what can she do to gain his help? Time to at least half-admit she needs help.]

You'd leave a lady all alone in the middle of the wilderness? How very rude.

[The tone is half flirtatious, half teasing.]

[Her attempts to flirt with him get no response. Instead, he continues with his cool, collected tone from earlier.]

I'd leave one alone who seems as though she can take care of herself. However, I would not stop her from going the same direction as I.

[It's not like she even expected it to go anywhere. But she batches up to his side, her HootHoot flying above the pair. He may have puffed up her ego with that comment.]
