It would have been nice to have my abilities back seven days ago. My travel time would have been cut in half if I could have just walked across the water instead of having to detour through the mountain. Does anyone know exactly what's going on here?

[To anyone who finds themselves along Route 42 they may find themselves faced with a dark-haired Uchiha in a burgundy robe. He has his Growlithe traveling along with him and looks like he has a clear goal in mind. Itachi won't stop for anyone but he won't mind them coming along if they like.]

[With that he tucks both hands into his sleeves and turns back to the path.]

[She blinks. He's so much like Naraku...but what can she do to gain his help? Time to at least half-admit she needs help.]

[The tone is half flirtatious, half teasing.]

[Her attempts to flirt with him get no response. Instead, he continues with his cool, collected tone from earlier.]

I'd leave one alone who seems as though she can take care of herself. However, I would not stop her from going the same direction as I.

[It's not like she even expected it to go anywhere. But she batches up to his side, her HootHoot flying above the pair. He may have puffed up her ego with that comment.]

[Compliments go far with women. And Itachi's not about to judge her skills based of the single moment. As it was, shinobi women were tough and her attitude reminds him of a kunoichi.]

[He would turn down the ride, he's come this far on foot and he'll finish it the same way. Though he won't turn her away if she wants to stay.]

Then....what are these animals about? Are they demons?

[She looks up at the HootHoot.]

They're strange for someone like me.

They're more like animal summons. They have various abilities like my Growlithe - as you saw - is a fire type so most of its skills are fire-based.

Pokemon....hm...and they all have different abilities? What might mine have?

[She crosses her arms, watching the Growlithe. It's interesting.]

I don't need summons to fight for me!

[He eyes the Pokemon.]

I imagine it's a flying type. Most of them seem to have basic fighting skills along with a touch of elemental abilities.

I still have no intention of letting them fight for me. I don't even think they're worth fighting.

You may not have a choice in the matter if you stay around. There are wild Pokemon that will attack on your travels and without our own abilities it's difficult to defend yourself.

And you can collect a different Pokemon if this one doesn't suit you well enough.

We only get one? [She thinks about it. Maybe the bird wouldn't be too bad.]

No, you can have up to six at one time and another forty-eight in this sort of storage area. There's a shop-like area where you can switch them out located in the towns.

[Currently Itachi only has six.]

[She pauses.]

I'm used to having thousands at my command.

An unfortunate side-effect of this world. Those with abilities, lose them upon arrival.

[She's in rage mode now, grabbing her fan out of her kimono and making a big gust of wind that cracks a few of the trees, causing beedrills to come out in anger and fly at them.]

[As if the HootHoot understands, the bird starts to claw at the flying Pokemon, attempting to fend them off.

Gokakyu!

[The Growlithe steps forward, leaping up to attack and alternating with fire attacks. Itachi makes some hand signs and closes his eyes, then his right one opens and black flames start to spread, setting the treetops on fire along with a large chunk of beedrills. Blood forms in the corners of his eye before streaking down his face.]

[She realizes her powers are still here a few seconds later, and begins attacking using tornadoes to take them out. When they're all gone, the two will be the only ones left in the clearing of burned down trees and broken tees.]

Some power you got there. [And then she notices the bleeding.]

[Even with the burned trees, the black flames don't go out. Even when his red eyes return to being black.]

The Uchiha clan is well-known for their fire abilities back in my world. [He raises his sleeve to wipe the blood away.]

I'm not blind. You were bleeding from your eyes. That isn't normal, Itachi Uchiha.

[She assumes that's his last name.]

Some type of magic, I assume. [She's talking about the trees as she looks at the burning fire with nothing to burn.]

[He won't bother to correct her, not this time.]

Chakra, actually. Energy provided by the body. [Those flames will burn for seven days, or until everything goes back to normal.]
